CHINA GROVE MAN CLAIMS $1 MILLION PRIZE ON “$200 MILLION EXTRAVAGANZA” GAME

Dec 23, 2009 00:43

RALEIGH- Not even a $1 million prize could “lure” a China Grove man from fishing in the Outer Banks. That’s why it took Brian Bost several weeks to claim his prize that he won on the $200 Million Extravaganza instant scratch-off ticket.

“I just had a lot going on and had been doing a lot of fishing so I waited until I had the time to travel to lottery headquarters,” Bost explained. He added that he will likely use some of the prize money to do some more fishing, but this time he may head to Florida waters. He said he may also consider getting a new hot rod.

North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) officials today helped Bost celebrate his win at the site of his lucky purchase— Sandy Ridge Service Station on NC Highway 153 in China Grove. Bost said that he purchases all of his lottery tickets there.

Bost is the third winner of the $1 million prize on the “$200 Million Extravaganza” game. The $1 million prize is paid in 20 annual installments of $50,000 (less taxes). Bost has already received his first check, which was $34,006 after taxes.
